Each emirate has its own licensing regulator (Dubai — DET, Abu Dhabi — ADDED/TAMM, Sharjah — SEDD, and others), and free zones run their own renewal portals. Late renewal on the mainland is subject to a fine of around AED 250 per month and blocks visa-related transactions; prolonged non-renewal can lead to administrative closure of the licence.
