Squarespace · one tag, twelve widgets

Cenaly.ru widgets for Squarespace

One line in the Header field of the Code Injection panel and the site gets chat, callback, a cookie banner, appointments and table booking. Your Squarespace template stays untouched.

  • Code Injection puts the tag into the head of every page at once
  • Code injection is available on Core, Plus, Advanced and some legacy plans
  • The design stays as it is: widgets live on top of the page

How to add the code on Squarespace

  1. 1

    Copy the install code

In your Cenaly.ru dashboard: Admin panel → Marketing → «My Website». Enter your site address in the first field and copy the tag.

  2. 2

    Open the Code Injection panel

In your Squarespace site dashboard: Website → Website Tools → Code Injection.

  3. 3

Paste the tag into the Header field

The Header field is injected into the head of every page. Footer goes before the closing body tag; Header is what we want here.

  4. 4

    Save

Press Save. The code applies to every page of the site.

  5. 5

    Check the installation

Open the live site and go back to «My Website» → «Check installation».

The same panel has separate fields for the lock page, order confirmation and order status pages — our widgets do not need them.

Squarespace official help ↗

Does Squarespace require a paid plan

A paid platform plan is required

Code injection is available on the Core, Plus, Advanced and some legacy Squarespace plans.

The Squarespace help center says it directly: «Code injection is available in the Core, Plus, Advanced, and some legacy billing plans».

The practical conclusion: on a personal or older entry-level plan the Code Injection panel may be unavailable — then it is either an upgrade or a route your plan does allow.

Squarespace plan names change over time — check the current list in the Squarespace help center link below.

What works on Squarespace

One tag — twelve widgets. You switch them on in your Cenaly.ru dashboard, not in your site’s code.

All 12 widgets →

Check the installation

  1. 1

    Publish the site again

In site builders your edit lives in a draft: until the pages are republished, the tag is not on the live site.

  2. 2

Open «My Website» in the dashboard

Admin panel → Marketing → «My Website». Put your site address in the first field and press «Check installation».

  3. 3

    See what was found

The check reads the page’s source HTML and lists the widgets it found. A tag injected through Google Tag Manager stays invisible to it — that is a limit of the check, not of the install.

Squarespace specifics

  • Header, not Footer

The panel offers two site-wide fields. Header lands in the head of every page — that is what you want; Footer works too, but the widgets appear slightly later.

  • A code block on a page is not the same thing

A Code Block inserts code inside one page. For widgets that should be everywhere you need the Code Injection panel.

  • Native forms and promotional pop-ups

Squarespace has its own forms and promotional pop-ups. Run both those and ours and a visitor sees two windows in a row — pick one.

  • Google Tag Manager is a valid alternative

The tag can be raised from GTM if it is already installed. The widgets will run, but our «Check installation» will not see it — it reads the page’s source HTML.

Questions and answers

Which Squarespace plan allows code injection?

Per the Squarespace help center — Core, Plus, Advanced and some legacy plans. On plans without code injection the panel simply does not open.

Header or Footer?

Header: the code lands in the head of every page and the widgets become available sooner. The loader is async and does not delay rendering.

Can I add the widget to a single page?

Code Injection is site-wide. For one page use a code block on that page — but remember the widgets will exist nowhere else.

Will the tag break my Squarespace template?

No. The widget renders in a Shadow DOM on top of the page: template styles do not reach it and its styles do not leak into the template.

Nothing appeared after saving

Make sure you are looking at the live site rather than the editor preview, and that the widget is switched on in your Cenaly.ru dashboard.
