How it works for the visitor

  1. 1

The visitor simply reads the page

The campaign waits for its condition: time on site, scroll depth, third page of the visit, an attempt to leave, a cart change, a click on your own button.

  2. 2

They see a card or a bar

You pick the format: a modal, a slide-in from the corner, a bar at the top, or a block embedded straight into your page layout.

  3. 3

    They do one thing

Leave an email, take a quiz, spin the wheel, reveal a coupon or follow the button — including straight into WhatsApp with the first message already written.

  4. 4

They keep the code, you keep the lead

An issued coupon stays with the visitor as a sticky reminder with its deadline, while the contact lands in your Leads inbox together with the page URL and UTM tags.

Set up in three steps

1

Sign up and add your site

A free Cenaly.ru account and your site domain in the "My website" section.

2

Paste one tag

One line before </body> — in your theme, in a Tilda or Wix HTML block, in Shopify's theme.liquid. It serves every widget.

3

Switch widgets on in the admin

Each widget is a toggle and a settings form. Changes reach your site without touching code; CDN cache is five minutes.

The tag

<script src="https://cdn.cenaly.ru/site/v1.js" data-domain="your-site.com" async></script>

One tag for all widgets. `data-domain` is your site; everything else lives in the admin.

What the popup widget does

Pick a format that fits the moment

Modal, slide-in in any of four corners, a bar at the top or bottom, full screen — plus placement as a block in the page flow: a signup in the footer, a quiz inside an article, a coupon under a product card. Best where an overlay is too much but the offer still belongs.

Catch a moment, not a page load

Nine triggers: load, time on site, idle, scroll depth, pages per session, exit intent, cart change, click on an element and your site’s own event. Best for shops and blogs with long pages.

Show it only to the right people

URL patterns, device, country, UTM tags, referrer class (maps, search, social, direct), new or returning, cart contents and value, plus up to 5 conditions on your own site events. Best for anyone buying traffic who doesn’t want to discount it for everybody.

Collect contacts and answers

A form with the fields you choose, or a quiz with branching, scoring, outcomes and a calculator field. Answers and contacts land in the Leads inbox with page URL and UTM, and export to CSV. Best for services where the enquiry starts with a diagnosis.

Play games honestly

Wheel of fortune (2–8 sectors), scratch card (2–6 prizes) and gift boxes (3–6): every prize is a real coupon code of your location, and the outcome is drawn before the animation starts. A campaign with no prizes simply doesn’t show. Best for promos and list building.

Test ideas without wearing people out

A/B variants with an honest verdict (200 views per variant, 10 metric events for the leader, 95 % confidence), a cooldown after dismissal, a lifetime cap of up to 100 views per visitor, and a teaser bubble instead of a repeat popup. Best for anyone running popups continuously.

Where it pays off

A discount for a subscription

An email field on the visitor’s third page: they get a personal code, you get a contact in the Leads inbox.

Leaving a product page

Exit-intent on desktop shows the offer to exactly those who were about to close the tab.

A “free delivery” progress bar

“€12 to go” recalculates with the cart, and the threshold comes from your delivery settings rather than thin air.

A quiz that recommends

A few branching questions and an outcome by score, with a coupon or a button. Answers are stored next to the contact.

“Goes well with” after add-to-cart

A compact slide-in with matching items: the “+” button adds one without closing the popup.

“Free today: 14:30, 16:00”

A bar with real free appointment slots; a click opens the booking widget with that time preselected.

How it looks on your site

Colour, position and labels adapt to your site. The widget lives in a Shadow DOM — your styles don't break it, and it doesn't break yours.

Honest about the limits

  • This is a paid add-on: without it the server-side projection removes the widget from your profile and the loader won’t start it.
  • The widget only knows about the cart your site tells it about (a `CenalyEngage.cart` call) or the cart of our own ordering widget.
  • A “goes well with” campaign needs our ordering widget on the same page, and “open chat” needs the chat widget. No neighbour, no impression — and the frequency cap isn’t burned.
  • A cart-goal bar without a threshold never shows: it either comes from your delivery settings or is set as an amount in the campaign.
  • The “free slots” tile is calculated for service appointments only. Free tables are not calculated — there is no floor plan in the public data.
  • Popups never appear on top of your own dialog or on a hidden tab, and on mobile a full-screen format on page load is served as a sheet — that is Google’s interstitial rule.

Who it's for

  • Shops with a cart: abandoned carts, upsells, free-delivery thresholds
  • Services and clinics: a quiz instead of a long enquiry form
  • Anyone paying for traffic who wants to speak to it differently

What smart popups are and when they are worth it

A popup is a message that appears in response to behaviour: the visitor is leaving, has finished reading, has just added something to the cart. What makes it “smart” is not the animation but the conditions — who sees it, when, and how often.

It earns its place where traffic already exists but action doesn’t: people read product pages and leave, a footer signup collects nothing, and a discount is shown to everyone including those who would have bought anyway. A popup fixes that selectively — and it can just as easily do harm if it fires for everyone, every time.

That is why the limiters sit right next to the triggers here: a cooldown in days after a dismissal, a lifetime cap per visitor, a teaser instead of a repeat window, and an A/B verdict with real thresholds. Contacts land in the Leads inbox with the page URL and UTM, and campaigns run on both your site and your Cenaly.ru storefront on one subscription.

Questions and answers

How much is it and what is included?

The “Website popups” add-on costs $9 a month or $90 a year — paying yearly means 10 months instead of 12. Impressions, the number of campaigns and the leads you collect are never metered.

Where do form submissions go?

Into the Leads inbox in your dashboard, together with the capture context: page URL and UTM tags. There are filters and CSV export; subscriptions go to your mailing list, and custom-form answers arrive as a separate stream.

Won’t popups annoy my visitors?

That is what the limiters are for: a cooldown in days after the ✕, a lifetime cap per visitor, the “one popup per session” rule, schedules, and a teaser bubble that folds the campaign into the corner instead of reopening it.

Can I embed a block in the page instead of an overlay?

Yes. Inline placement renders the card inside your own layout — by CSS selector or by a ready-made anchor. Such a block doesn’t burn the “one popup per session” cap and isn’t closed by Esc.

What does the “free delivery” bar need?

A threshold. On our storefront it comes from your delivery settings; on your own site the page sends it with `CenalyEngage.cart({ items, subtotalMinor, freeFromMinor })`, or you set a fixed amount in the campaign. With no threshold the campaign does not show.

How do I know which variant works better?

The server calculates variant statistics and returns a verdict: a winner, no difference, or not enough data. Thresholds are 200 views per variant and 10 metric events for the leader at 95 % confidence. A human applies the result with “Apply winner”.

Do campaigns also run on my Cenaly.ru storefront?

Yes — the selection and display engine is the same, so a campaign configured once runs on both surfaces. The one exception is the “free slots” tile, which is calculated only by the widget on your own site.

How do I install it?

The shared “My website” tag plus the Popups toggle. Campaigns are then created and edited in the admin — you never touch the site code again, and the CDN cache refreshes within 5 minutes.

Will it slow my site down?

The loader is one small `async` script; widgets load as separate bundles and only the ones you switched on. Nothing blocks page rendering.

Will it break my layout?

No. Widgets render inside a Shadow DOM: your site's CSS doesn't affect them and theirs doesn't leak out.

Which language will the widget speak?

It reads your page's `<html lang>` or a `data-lang` attribute on the tag. Built-in labels are translated into 45 languages; your own texts you write in the admin in the languages you need.

Where is the data stored?

In the cloud your account lives in: cenaly.com — AWS, cenaly.ru — Yandex Cloud in Russia. Requests, conversations and bookings stay within the brand's contour.
