Own delivery (couriers)
If your venue delivers with its own staff, Meni gives couriers a dedicated screen: an order queue, a map with the route, and one-tap status changes. The owner sees which courier carries which order and when it was delivered.
Open: Admin panel → Courier. Available to the owner, managers and employees with the Courier role.
Setup#
- Enable delivery in the location settings (delivery zones and fees — see Orders). Zones are drawn on the Courier screen, in the "Delivery dispatch & zones" block; mind the main consequence — an address outside every zone cannot be ordered to. With no zones at all, the existing pricing applies.
- Create couriers on the Staff page with the "Courier" role — each gets their own login; a courier sees only the delivery screen.
- The courier opens admin.cenaly.ru on their phone — the screen is mobile-friendly.
The courier screen#
Two tabs — Orders and Map.
Orders are grouped by stage:
| Section | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Preparing | The kitchen is still cooking — the courier sees what's coming |
| Ready for pickup | Ready to grab: the "Take order" button |
| On the way | The courier's own orders: address, phone, the "Delivered" button |
| Delivered today | Today's history |
The Map tab shows delivery points and the route to the customer; the courier's own location is shown too. If an address has no coordinates, navigation falls back to the address text.
Delivery order statuses#
New → Preparing → Ready for pickup → Out for delivery → Delivered
- Ready for pickup — the kitchen finished (bump on the KDS);
- Out for delivery — the courier tapped "Take order" (the order is assigned to them);
- Delivered — the courier confirmed the handover; the time is recorded;
- "Return" — releases the order if it was taken by mistake.
The guest sees their order status in real time on the order page.
Payment on delivery#
The order card shows the payment method:
- Cash on delivery — a "Collect from customer" note with the amount;
- Card on delivery — take payment with a terminal;
- Paid online — nothing to collect.
What you need to get started#
- The "Courier" section — it is on by default but can be switched off in the App Store.
- Delivery zones and fees — polygons or radii on the map with a price, a minimum order and free delivery above an amount.
- Couriers as employees with the "Courier" role: the section is available to the owner, managers and couriers; other roles are refused.
- A courier's phone with a browser — the courier web app opens on it.
Limitations#
- Assignment is one-way. A courier cannot accept or decline an offered order — the dispatcher assigns, the courier delivers.
- There is no PIN confirmation of handover in the courier web app.
- The freelance courier network is not deployed. The network settings and the "Send to network" button are rendered, but on the backend this currently does nothing; your own delivery does not depend on it and works fully.
- Delivery-as-a-service providers (Wolt Drive and others) are verified on mocks; there are no live shipments.
- A courier's cash accountability with reconciliation in the cash shift is not closed: cash on delivery is accepted, but handing the money back to the till is tracked outside the system.
- Routes are built on a public demo service with no availability guarantees — worth knowing for critical routes.
- Courier-stage statuses and the channel-pause banner are not shown to guests everywhere — an open task.
- The section is one large window (queue, fleet, map, zones, settings), and our internal clarity review gives it 3 out of 5.
Troubleshooting#
The courier sees no orders. Check the employee's role and that the order is assigned to them: auto-assignment works by zone, and an order outside a zone will not be assigned.
An order did not reach delivery. The order type must be "delivery", the address must fall inside a zone, and the minimum must be met. If any of these fails, the order stays in the general list.
The guest cannot see tracking. Courier-stage statuses do not reach every storefront surface — a known limitation.
The "Send to network" button does nothing. That is correct: the freelance courier network is not deployed. Use your own couriers.
The delivery fee was calculated incorrectly. Check the order of zones: an address falls into the first matching one, and free delivery above an amount overrides the zone fee.

FAQ#
How is own delivery different from Wolt/Glovo?#
Aggregators charge a commission and provide their couriers; own delivery means your couriers and 0% commission. Many venues combine both: aggregators for new customers, own delivery for regulars. Orders from all channels land in one feed.
Does the courier need an app?#
No, a phone browser is enough. The courier signs in with their login and sees only the delivery screen.
Can the owner see who delivered an order?#
Yes — the order stores the courier, pickup time and delivery time. A delivery summary is available in Finance.
