Product Collections

Collections are storefront groups of products for your online store: "New arrivals", "Best sellers", "On sale", seasonal sets. They help you present the catalog nicely and guide shoppers to the right products.

Open: Admin Panel → Collections (admin.cenaly.ru).

This section belongs to the retail vertical and appears in the menu for that business type. It has no effect on a restaurant menu.

Where else. In store mode you can manage collections right inside the Catalog section without leaving for a separate page: a second row of chips with collections appears under the categories, with an axis filter next to it. Clicking a chip opens the collection's contents, a pick mode lets you add products by clicking their cards, and the pencil in the action bar opens the same full editor as a modal. The selected collection lives in the address (?collection=), so the link can be sent to a colleague. In the product card itself, membership in manual collections is toggled with pills (automatic collections are not in the pills — their contents are driven by rules).

Collection types#

  • Manual — you pick which products belong to the collection yourself.
  • Automatic (rule-based) — products enter the collection by conditions you set (e.g. by tag, category or another attribute). The list updates itself as the catalog changes.

Each collection card shows its type, the number of products (or rules), and its status — published or hidden.

Creating a collection#

Click "New collection" and fill in the editor:

  • Title — the heading shoppers will see;
  • Handle — the part of the URL like /collection/handle;
  • Products (for a manual collection) or rules (for an automatic one);
  • “Show available items only” — show in the collection just what is orderable right now: items in the 86 list and paused ones are hidden. The checkbox is evaluated on the storefront at render time, so it takes effect instantly without waiting for the storefront snapshot to be republished — a key setting for “Best sellers” and seasonal collections;
  • SEO fields — title, meta description and a social image (OG image, with a “Take from photo” button that reuses the collection cover);
  • Publication — you can temporarily hide the collection from the storefront.

The order of collections is set by sorting — that's how you control what appears higher on the storefront.

FAQ#

How is a collection different from a category?#

A category is the catalog structure (where a product "lives"). A collection is a marketing storefront group — a product can belong to several collections at once.

What does an automatic collection do?#

It gathers products by rules and updates when the catalog changes — no need to add new arrivals by hand.

Can I hide a collection without deleting it?#

Yes, unpublish it — the collection disappears from the storefront but stays in the list.
