The yellow “Known issue” notice in payroll
Sometimes an error in the calculation rules is found after payroll has already been calculated with them. The app does not keep quiet about it: every result the error touches gets a yellow “Known issue” notice — a person in the month’s calculation, a budget obligation or a saved form. Here is what it means and what to do.
What the notice means#
The error was found by a rules review (an audit of the calculation against primary sources). The notice tells you three things:
- what is affected — the heading: the person and what exactly (vacation pay, overtime, childbirth aid) or the document;
- what the error is — one sentence and the “Why and what to do” section with the legal rule;
- the state of the fix — one of the two lines below.
| Line in the notice | What it means |
|---|---|
| “Check with your accountant: known issue, a fix is on the way” | The fixed rule does not work yet where you calculate. Check the amount manually |
| “A fix is available. Recalculate this result and review the changes” | The fixed rule already works, but this result was calculated with the old one. Recalculate it |
The line “This may affect you” means there is not enough data to rule the error out. For example, the aid payments do not name the child, so it is not clear whether it is one child or several.
The app looks not at the date but at which rule calculated this particular result. So an old month does not become “fixed” by itself when the fix arrives.
What to do#
- Open “Why and what to do” in the notice — it has the rule and a concrete step.
- If it says “a fix is on the way”, check the amount with your accountant. You can approve the month.
- If it says “A fix is available”, recalculate the result:
- a month not yet approved — “Recalculate” in the month’s calculation;
- an approved month — “Correct the approved calculation”; pay (or withhold) the difference in the next payout;
- a saved form — generate it again: the new file gets the correct data, the old one does not change.
- Compare the new amount with the old one. If it went up, the person is owed the difference.
When the notice disappears#
- When the result is recalculated with the fixed rule. There is no other way.
- Marking it as read does not remove it — it fixes nothing.
- The app does not rewrite approved amounts, issued payslips or saved files by itself. Until you recalculate the month or generate the form again, the notice stays.
Childbirth aid: tax and contributions may be understated#
What happened. Childbirth aid is exempt up to RUB 1,000,000 per child — across all payments in the first year after birth (Tax Code art. 217 cl. 8, art. 422). The old calculation applied this limit anew to each payment. If aid for one child was paid several times and the total exceeded RUB 1,000,000, tax and contributions on the excess were not charged.
What to do. Review all aid payments for this child with your accountant. Name the child on the payments — then the app counts the limit per child. After the fix, recalculate the month: the fixed rule takes earlier payments into account.
Vacation pay after a general pay rise may be understated#
What happened. After a general pay rise, average earnings are indexed. Percentage allowances to the salary — the regional coefficient and the northern allowance — rise too (clause 16 of the Regulation on average earnings, Government Decree No. 540). The old calculation raised only the salary.
What to do. Check the vacation pay with your accountant. After the fix, recalculate it and compare with the old amount; pay the difference. For an approved month — via “Correct the approved calculation”.
Payment code of additional pension contributions#
What happened. Since 2026, additional contributions under Tax Code art. 428 (hazardous and arduous working conditions) have their own budget classification codes (KBK): without a special assessment — 18210204010011010160 and 18210204020011010160, based on its results — 18210204010011020160 and 18210204020011020160. The code with subtype 1000 is wrong. The amount does not change — only the payment detail does.
What to do. Do not pay or send the notice with the old code without your accountant checking it. After the fix, generate the notice and the RSV again — the new file gets the correct code. The old file does not change by itself.
Overtime after 120 hours a year may be underpaid#
What happened. Since 01.09.2026, overtime from the 121st hour of the year is paid at least double (Labour Code art. 152 as amended by Federal Law 144-FZ). This holds even if the collective agreement allows 240 hours of overtime. The old calculation paid the first two hours of a shift at time and a half.
What to do. Check the overtime premium with your accountant. After the fix, recalculate the month and compare the premium with the old one; pay the difference. For an approved month — via “Correct the approved calculation”.
What the app does not do#
- It does not pay or withhold the difference by itself: the decision and the amount are up to you and your accountant.
- It does not rewrite approved months and saved files.
- It does not send corrected reports to the tax office and the Social Fund — your accountant files them.
