Dish Labels
Labels are visual badges shown next to a dish in the digital menu: "spicy", "vegan", "new", "chef's recommendation", and so on. Open Admin Panel → Labels (admin.cenaly.ru/labels).
Labels are about the visual signal for the guest. If you need legally significant allergen and nutrient labeling (EU Regulation 1169/2011 and similar requirements), see the separate Allergens & Nutrients section.
Standard label library#
A ready-made set of labels in three categories ships out of the box:

Standard labels are always shared across all locations and protected from editing or deletion — this guarantees important badges (like allergens) can never be accidentally lost.
Custom labels#
Beyond the standard set, you can create your own label:
- Click "Add label".
- Set a name (with translations into the languages you need, via a translatable field).
- Give it an icon — three ways to choose from:
- upload your own file;
- pick from the account's media library;
- generate with AI — the model draws a pictogram in the menu's single "flat" style: ✨ for the first generation, 🔄 to redraw it if you don't like the result.
- Choose a category — allergen, dietary, or special.
Custom labels are fully yours — they can be edited and deleted at any time, unlike standard ones.
A custom label is assigned to a dish just like the built-in ones: open the "Dish labels" block on the item card — your own labels are grouped there under "My labels". The guest sees the label in their own language and with your icon.
Scoping a label to locations#
If you have multiple locations, a custom label can be made local instead of shared: pick the locations in the scope selector. A label with no explicit scoping (or an empty location list) stays shared across the whole chain — this is the default, backward-compatible behavior for existing labels.
Location scoping is useful, for example, if a "chef's signature dish" label only makes sense for one venue in the chain, not all of them. That label's icon syncs only to the guest-facing site of the scoped locations.

FAQ#
How do labels differ from allergens and nutrients?#
Labels are visual badges on the menu for the guest (including for allergens) — their names, translations and icons. There is no separate "Allergens & Nutrients" screen in the panel: allergens and nutrients are fields on the same dish card, and the regulatory side is covered in the Allergens and nutrients article.
Can I delete a standard label, like "spicy"?#
No: the name, the category and the label itself are fixed — you can only create your own labels in addition to them. The one thing you can change on a standard label is its icon: upload your own (📷) or generate one with AI (✨) and the guest sees exactly that on the menu. Changed your mind — upload another one (there is no button that brings the factory icon back).
How do I assign a label to a specific dish?#
The dish editor in the Menu section has a "Dish labels" block — first turn it on with the "Visible Fields" gear in the card header, then tick the labels you need. The picker has three built-in sections (allergens, diets, special tags — 20 values) plus a "My labels" section with your own labels from this page. The 29 standard labels stay read-only — they cannot be renamed or deleted, but you can give them your own icon.
Is a label's name only shown in one language?#
No, a label's name can be translated into every language you use in your menu — the guest sees the label in their own language.
