A till on an Android tablet that keeps selling without the internet

Cenaly POS turns an Android tablet or a POS terminal into a till: the order is built from menu tiles, paid in an open cash shift and goes to the kitchen and the orders board of the same location.

What it does

Sale

Menu tiles and search, options and variants, dine-in, pickup and delivery, online orders of the location.

Payment and shift

Cash, card on a terminal, gift card and “On credit”; a cash shift with X and Z reports.

Receipts and hardware

Fiscal receipts, printers and card terminals through Cenaly Hardware Bridge over Wi-Fi; the built-in printer of MSPOS terminals.

Returns

A return by receipt with the option to put the goods back in stock; approval with a manager PIN.

Offline

A sale without a connection gets an offline number and is stored on the tablet; it is sent when the network is back, and a payment that is not reconciled yet is not taken a second time.

Delivery

The “Courier” menu item: accept a package the courier brings back and handle a delivery that did not reach the customer.

Limits, honestly

  • No discounts on the receipt or a line and no price editing in the Android till — they are in the web POS.
  • Card payment on a terminal needs a pairing with Cenaly Hardware Bridge 0.27 or newer; with an older pairing the card is recorded as an external payment.
  • Android versions are distributed as an installation file right from this site — they are not on Google Play yet; iPhone and iPad versions are released through the App Store. Features were tested on emulators and test devices; acceptance in working venues is still in progress.

How to install

  1. Open this page on the Android device itself and tap “Download APK”.
  2. Open the downloaded file. On the first install Android asks to allow installs from this source (your browser) — allow it.
  3. Tap “Install” and wait until it finishes — the icon appears on the home screen.
  4. Launch the app and sign in: email and password, or a QR code issued by the web dashboard.

Updating works the same way: download the file again and install it over the old one; your sign-in is kept.

Sign-in

The same account as the web dashboard: email and password, a QR code for a shared device, and an authenticator code if two-factor protection is on. Staff only see the locations of their role.
